Week One Weight Loss ~ Rachel

I joined Weight Watchers on January 12th. One week later, on January 19th, I weighed 5.8 pounds less than I did when I started. Not a bad start if I do say so myself!

Rachel and Dave, my CVS co-worker started his weight loss using Weight Watchers and was very successful – took him about 65 or so pounds to get to his goal. After more years than you’ve been alive, I’m now down 72.5 (note – every ounce counts! ;-))…thanks to the treadmill. I’ve heard great things about WW, but for me it would have just been one more thing to keep up with. The point is that we all find what works for us and you two will get it as well. The one thing I hope will help me keep it off is a new way of thinking. In the past, I kept the old clothes “just in case.” This time I’ve told myself that “just in case” is not an option. For me, setting a final goal was too daunting, so instead my goal remains to “just keep losing…however slowly.” I figure I’ll know it when I get there, Back to my pharmacist – his experience and his support was a huge inspiration to me. Just being able to see him at work and say to him “made it to 3 miles on the treadmill today” and get his high-5 helped to keep me on track. So, keep that support system close at hand. And remember, when you slip up (we all do!), it’ll be okay. You just get back on the horse. Love you guys (ok, so I haven’t met you, Dave, but Rachel does and that’s what counts), and will help in any way I can. You’re beautiful, Rachel, inside and out…so now we need for you to feel it!
